The mission of Final Touch Barber Academy, LLC (FTBA, LLC) is threefold: 1) To provide an educational opportunity in the professional field of Barbering.
2) To provide the Philadelphia and its surrounding communities with a state approved, vocational-centered Barbering Program. The (FTBA, LLC) seeks to provide a place of learning for those seeking a skilled, trade profession as an alternative to traditional paths of higher learning. The costs of higher learning programs are increasing exponentially, thus, causing insurmountable debt on students. The (FTBA, LLC) mission is to provide an affordable educational opportunity, to lessen any financial burden on its students and our society.
3) The Final Touch Barber Academy, LLC, mission is to interact and partner with diverse community-based organizations and find ways to provide educational opportunities for those in need. This inclusivity means partnering with “second chance” initiatives and criminal justice programs seeking an educational opportunity for their client base.
The Final Touch Beauty Academy, LLC, intends to hire professional teachers in the field of Barbering. These professionals will be successful entrepreneurs in the Barber field. They are PA state board accredited as “Teachers.”
Some of your training will take place in a classroom setting. Part of this program will include following a state approved syllabus, as students will learn all aspects of theory common to the field of Barbering. In addition, students will be required to show their mastery and a steady confidence through applicable practice. Theory and Practical exams will be given to show a student’s strengths and weaknesses. These exams help us to target problem areas and extra help will be provided when needed.
A Student is required to complete 1250 study hours for graduation and be considered a candidate to apply and test for his/her state board Barber License. The successful documentation of (FTBA, LLC) students who become accredited Barber Professionals, is a gauge we will use to measure outcomes and identify areas for improvement. We expect to begin with class sizes of ten students and increase as needed.
The funds received will be utilized to help students with financial needs; especially, those waiting for Pell Grant eligibility and funding. So, tuition payments are reinvested right back into the program.
The funds that are hopefully awarded by the City. State and private donors will be instrumental for: Purchasing textbooks, Barber supplies, required school uniforms, and provide financial scholarships for our students in need. The funds will also help defray the costs of administrative and technology supplies, which are instrumental for proper record keeping and supporting a variance of learning styles.
The timeline is still flexible. However, we do wish to open by November 1, with at least ten to twelve incoming students. Our website is active but still under construction as we have so much to add. We also want to create a portal to register online. We will begin local radio advertising soon.
